What Is a Russian Manicure?
A Russian manicure — also called a dry manicure or e-file manicure — is a precision nail-care technique performed without soaking. Instead of pushing cuticles back, our technicians use a fine electric file to gently remove the cuticle and the thin dry skin around the nail plate. The result is a perfectly clean nail contour, so gel polish can be applied almost under the cuticle line.
Because the nail is prepped dry and the gel sits closer to the skin, a Russian manicure looks flawless longer: the grow-out line appears later and softer than with a classic manicure. Most of our clients in Manhattan come back every 3–4 weeks — not because the gel chipped, but simply because the nails grew.

Yes — when performed by a trained technician with sterilized instruments. The e-file removes only dead skin; it never touches the living tissue. Our specialists are trained specifically in this technique, and all tools are sterilized and sealed before every appointment.
With gel polish, 3–4 weeks. Because cuticles are removed rather than pushed back, the manicure looks fresh noticeably longer than a classic one.
A regular manicure soaks the hands and pushes cuticles back; polish stops short of the cuticle line. A Russian manicure is done dry, the cuticle is removed with an e-file, and gel is applied nearly under the skin line — cleaner look, longer wear.
Plan for about 75–120 minutes. The technique is more detailed than a standard manicure — precision takes time, and we never rush it.
